Why the terrace fails first

A terrace takes the most direct load of any surface on a building — standing monsoon water, a full day of summer heat, and the expansion and contraction that comes with it, cycle after cycle. Left untreated or built on an old coba layer that has lost its bond, this movement opens hairline cracks at joints, parapet junctions and drain mouths — the exact points where a terrace begins to leak into the slab below.

The Weatherblazer Process

Six stages, verified at every step before the next one covers it.

01
Surface Preparation
Chipping of extra material, removing dust and loose particles so the waterproofing system bonds to a sound surface.
02
Honeycombing
Honeycombed areas are cleaned out — all damaged concrete removed — and repaired with polymerised concrete.
Material: Waterblazer SBR or Creteblazer ACRL, dosed into the repair mortar as a bonding and polymer-modification agent.
03
Big Holes & Damaged Concrete
Any larger voids or damaged concrete sections are removed and repaired before the waterproofing layer goes on.
Material: same polymerised-concrete repair mix as step 2.
04
Joint Treatment Optional — site dependent
Joints are sealed with special elastomeric joint tapes for permanent protection against movement at expansion joints and base-parapet connections.
Material: Jointblazer EXP TPE Tape for expansion joints; Jointblazer AL / Fleece Tape at flashings, drain mouths and pipe penetrations.
05
Waterproofing
A primer coat, followed by two coats of a flexible, elastomeric waterproofing system — building a strong, seamless barrier between water and the concrete below.
Primer: Waterblazer DI Prime (or WB Prime). Coating system — one of Heatblazer, Dampblazer Ultra, Waterblazer PU+ or Waterblazer BLK, selected after site assessment (see Materials below).
06
Slope Correction Where RCC slope is not maintained
If the slope was not built into the RCC casting, a PCC layer with metal screed concrete (M15 or M20 mix) is laid at the minimum required thickness, forming the slope and finishing the top surface smooth — before the waterproofing system in step 5 goes on.
Note: standard civil PCC/screed practice; Waterblazer SBR can be used as a bonding coat between the old slab and the new screed.

Materials We Use

The coating system is chosen after site assessment — exposure, existing surface, and whether heat reduction is a priority. Everything below is applied by a certified Weatherblazer team, never supplied loose.

Primary waterproofing system — one is selected per site

Heatblazer

Single-component thermal-insulating elastomeric coating. Best where roof heat reduction matters as much as waterproofing — SRI 120, up to 20°C lower roof temperature in peak summer.

  • Resists heat on RCC, metallic, asbestos and GI sheet roofs
  • Monolithic, seamless elastomeric seal
  • Reduces AC load on the floor below
10 kg & 20 kg

Dampblazer Ultra

Single-component hybrid polyurethane membrane. Applies directly over an existing terrace surface — including old brickbat coba — without breaking it out first.

  • Seamless, flexible waterproof membrane
  • Strong adhesion to concrete and masonry
  • High UV and weathering resistance
1 / 5 / 10 / 20 / 50 kg

Waterblazer PU+

Single-component, water-based aliphatic polyurethane coating. Foot-trafficable, used on roofs, podium decks and areas that see regular movement.

  • Tough but flexible membrane film
  • UV stable, non-yellowing
  • Good resistance to mild acids and alkalis
20 kg & 50 kg

Waterblazer BLK

Cold-applied, single-component elastomeric emulsion membrane. Highly resistant to chlorides and sulphates commonly present in soil — a strong choice for harsher exposure.

  • Self-curing, does not require external water curing
  • Excellent UV and long-term ageing stability
  • Remains flexible from -25°C to 120°C
20 kg & 50 kg
Detailing & joint treatment

Jointblazer EXP TPE Tape

Transversely flexible, longitudinally rigid expansion-joint tape. Resists water pressure above 5 bar — used at base-parapet connections and wide or irregular cracks.

25 m roll

Jointblazer AL / Fleece Tape

Self-adhesive butyl-rubber tape, aluminium-backed (AL) for flashing or fleece-backed for areas that will be coated over — drain mouths, corner joints, pipe penetrations.

Roll — width/length per site

Crackblazer Paste

Ready-to-use crack filler paste. Withstands limited linear movement — for non-moving joints and cracks up to 8 mm.

1 kg & 4 kg
Surface preparation, repair & primer

Waterblazer SBR / Creteblazer ACRL

Polymer modifiers blended into the repair mortar for honeycombed and damaged concrete — improve bonding, flexibility and resistance to water ingress.

Waterblazer DI Prime / WB Prime

Primer coat applied before the waterproofing system, so the coating bonds fully to the prepared concrete surface.

Metal or profile-sheet roofs (industrial sheds, warehouses) use a different system — Waterblazer Self Adhesive Membrane, rather than the liquid-applied coatings above. Terraces with an integrated sunken section or water tank may also bring in Waterblazer 102 / 102 Ultra at that section for hydrostatic-pressure resistance.
